An explosion at an illegal coal mine killed 35 miners in central China’s Henan province Tuesday and left another 44 men trapped, the government said.
An initial investigation showed that the mine in Pingdingshan city had been operating illegally...

Tragic. There are so many good, hard-working Chinese dying for a little money and many shady ones taking advantage of them. Anyway, it isn't a good idea for humans to be burrowing around in the earth like ants to extract poison.

I work in China and once when I asked one of my Chinese business partners how he is able to find skilled labor for his production, he stated flatly, "In China, people are nothing."

Coal mining has killed more people directly (and untold thousands more indirectly from pneumoconiosis) than nuclear accidents ever have. Just sayin', it's high time to re-evaluate where the majority our energy should be coming from. Also, there's no such thing as clean coal.
